Hi Sara...my name is Martha and I am the youngest sister of one of your clients. I just received a copy of her Health Care Guidelines and read it from cover to cover. As I said to her, it is comprehensive and well considered...even someone who did not know her well would have a good idea after reading it.

I am also a Hospice nurse and do see people losing their choices regularly because they have not planned or articulated their wishes and needs adequately. It breaks my heart to see the frustration and sense of almost abandonment sometimes. I have been thinking about what can be done to improve end-of-life planning and peace-of-mind and what you are doing surely must reduce anxiety for people facing this final transition.

So thank you for doing this for my sister and thank you for also inspiring me as well.

    Warm regards,

    Martha

Sara, Of the hundreds of bills in this, yours I am most happy to pay, on receipt even.

Your help at each step throughout was so on point, clarifying, enlightening, and timely. As a lawyer I'm pretty good at processing large volumes of data but my spouse's serious medical crises overwhelmed me and my adult children with ever-changing information that left us anything but clear about what was coming and what if anything we needed to do to get ready.

Your ability to process all that medical information, summarize what it meant, spot what was coming in the way of decisions to be made, prioritize it all, address our concerns, and then tell us exactly what we needed to do next, was nothing short of remarkable. Each conversation I had with you left me with a feeling of huge relief, that finally, I knew what the key issues were, and exactly what I needed to do next. I can't tell you how much better and that made me feel. And how much more capable as a result.

You were way more than "Medical Advocacy and Planning." You were a most-needed guide through a bewildering environment. Who better than an experienced RN (and one with mad communication skills) to do that? Yvonne's a nurse and she's always said that nurses run the place. I know how much they know at ground level.

Having someone "in your corner" is reassuring anytime in life, but having that someone be a member of the medical profession is a godsend when you are facing health concerns.

It made a huge difference to me to be able to discuss my issues, understand my options, and have help to priorities my next steps forward with Sara Stephens. A good listener, she heard what I was saying as well as hearing what I wasn't saying. She is a calm, positive, very respectful of privacy professional who has recognized the need for support for patients.
